THE BUZZ: EA announced today that the company will let fans decide which pro golfer will join Tiger Woods on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13.

From October 3rd until October 23rd, EA will hold a bracket-style voting campaign where fans can choose from 16 well-known pro golfers to be featured on the game’s cover along with Woods.

The golfers available for the opportunity are as follows:

American division choices:

• Ben Crane
• Rickie Fowler
• Jim Furyk
• Dustin Johnson
• Zach Johnson
• Hunter Mahan
• Rocco Mediate
• Bubba Watson

European division choices:

• Paul Casey
• Luke Donald
• Ross Fisher
• Graeme McDowell
• Rory McIlroy
• Edoardo Molinari
• Ian Poulter
• Justin Rose

According to EA, “Candidates were selected and seeded based on a combination of the Official World Golf Rankings, the FedExCup Rankings/Race to Dubai Rankings and ‘Fandom’ rankings. Fandom rank is a combination of Twitter followers, Facebook fans and traffic to each golfer’s official website.”

EGM’s TAKE: I have but one thing to say to the men and women of EA: no Michelle Wie, no vote from me! And no, it has nothing to do with the fact that she’s the only pro golfer I know besides Tiger Woods. Well, that’s not totally correct—I do also know Lee Trevino, thanks to SNK’s awesome golf game for the NES. Can I vote for him?
