Far Cry 3 creative director and Assassin’s Creed II designer Patrick Ploude will unveil his personal project, Child of Light, at GDC Europe 2013 in Cologne, Germany.

Child of Light will be part of Ploude’s “Small Projects in AAA Studios” presentation, which focuses on the “personal challenges and opportunities of producing a small title within the walls of Ubisoft Montreal.”

The idea behind the talk, at least according to the presentation’s description on the GDC website, is notion of bringing indie mentality to major studios in an effort to foster new forms of creativity. The talk is geared toward industry veterans looking to step away from triple-A games, but not necessarily divorce themselves from an established studio to go indie.

GDC Europe 2013 will take place August 19 through August 21 in Cologne, Germany.
