A high-def update of the Far Cry that started it all is coming to North America February 11 as Far Cry Classic, Ubisoft announced today.
Far Cry Classic was originally announced for Europe in January. Until today’s announcement, there was no confirmation that it would make its way stateside. Far Cry itself first debuted on Windows PC back in 2004, but never graced consoles until now.
The HD update bumps up the resolution to 720p and comes with better graphics, “revamped” cutscenes, and a new user interface.
Far Cry Classic will be available on PS3 through PSN and Xbox 360 through Xbox Live on Tuesday, February 11, for $9.99. Also launching that same day, though only on PS3, is the Far Cry Compilation, which contains Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for $39.99.
