After its title and cover art leaked hours before its official reveal, Far Cry: New Dawn made it official with a reveal trailer and a release date announcement.
Taking place seventeen years after the events of Far Cry 5, New Dawn features a pair of sisters that are part of a raider group who seem to be causing quite the disturbance in a post-apocalyptic Hope County. Players will take on the role of a Survivor who is trying to help other Survivors put the pieces of society back together, while raiders called Highwaymen and their leaders, twin sisters Mickey and Lou. Joseph Seed makes a brief cameo at the end of the trailer, hinting that the Cult of Eden’s story is far from over.
Far Cry: New Dawn will feature Turf Wars against Highwaymen, cross-country Expeditions that will take you outside of Hope County, and cooperative multiplayer, with brand new Guns and Fangs for Hire to accompany you on your journey. Players will manage their home bases and resources, and it sounds like New Dawn will feature some sort of procedural generation, as the trailer description states that “Expeditions and Outposts are different every playthrough, for rewarding missions that increase in challenge and are surprising every time.”
Far Cry: New Dawn launches on February 15th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and it’s only going to cost $39.99.
