Fatal Frame Wii U to be officially unveiled later this week

Posted on July 15, 2014 AT 06:51am

Tecmo Koei will host a livestream later this week, where it will officially unveil the latest game in the Fatal Frame series that is in development for Wii U.

The livestream will be hosted via Japan’s NicoNico service and is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. JST (12:30 a.m. Eastern), and will see Nintendo and Tecmo Koei discussing the new game as well as other news relating to the franchise.

No official release date or title has been revealed for the game so far. As well as a new game, Tecmo Koei also plans to expand the universe with a live action film from Kadokawa Corporation—in production for a fall release—an original novel, and a comic from Kindaichi Case Files writer Shin Kibayashi.

The last entry in the series, Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, launched for Wii in 2008 in Japan, but was never localized.
