How About That: Fez Sells 100,000 Copies On XBLA

Indie development group Polytron is celebrating the release of Fez and the 100,000 copies that it sold on Xbox Live Arcade since debuting on April 13. That’s a lot of ground to cover in less than two months, but the far more impressive feat is that the long development process didn’t hinder excitement for the game in the least.
For those keeping track, Fez was officially announced back in 2007, spending almost half a decade in development before it was finished. Think of all the things that have happened since then.
BioWare finished the entire three-game Mass Effect trilogy in the time it took to finish this one indie title. Michael Bay somehow managed to convince people to give him money for all three Transformers movies. The United States of America elected its first black president. Heck, My Little Ponies is back on TV.
It’s not quite enough to make us feel old. But man, time flies before you even realize it went anywhere.
