Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn‘s 2.2 patch, Through the Maelstrom, will make several changes to the game’s crafting and gathering professions with the addition of new recipes, tools, and more.
Patch 2.2 will introduce new crafting recipes for all professions for armor, toys, and furniture. As well as these new recipes, master crafting books will be introduced, which are “a special set of recipes for each class may be learned only from master recipe books. Comprehensible only to level 50 crafters, the recipes held within will demand much and more of Eorzea’s veteran artisans.”
Free Companies will also be able to place crafting stations for all eight professions in their houses that can be used by crafters who are level 40 and below, offering bonus CP for a limited time. For end game gathers, there are some new tools available from Revenant’s Toll and new Unspoiled nodes to farm.
Finally, players who have reached level 50 in Fishing can take on some new Big Fishing quests. “Fishers of surpassing skill can try their hand at reeling in impressive denizens of the deep once thought to be mere legend, earning an array of achievements in the process,” Square Enix explains.
