THE BUZZ: EA has released the first trailer for its upcoming Euro 2012 expansion pack for FIFA 12.

The expansion is set for release April 24 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, priced at $21.99 or 1800 Microsoft Points. This will be the first time that an expansion like this has released for any FIFA title.

EGM’s TAKE: Usually these major tournaments receive their own game from EA Sports, however they never sell very well. This is why EA has moved to this new strategy of delivering the tournament via DLC, allowing the publisher to tap into the huge player base that FIFA 12 has. This is a really smart move on EA’s part as not only do they get to sell the content to an already established player base but more people will probably end up buying the expansion in order to extended their FIFA 12 experience.
