Who says that only Europeans like soccer—or football, if that’s what you prefer to call it. According to EA Sports, the launch of FIFA Soccer 13 has been the series’ most successful one yet, with a huge first day jump.
EA posted a press release on their findings, gathered from internal sales, that highlights the following data:
- FIFA Soccer 13 sold 353,000 copies on its first day in North America
- FIFA 13‘s launch numbers make this a 42-percent jump in NA from last year
- In the App Store, FIFA 13 was the #1 in Top Paid Game in 55 countries and #1 in Top Grossing Game in 24 countries
- FIFA Soccer 13 on iOS now claims ”the biggest launch-day performance of any EA iOS game in history”
That’s not too shabby a performance for EA’s soccer franchise, not by any means.
Although the developer/publisher can’t seem to get their act together on the basketball court, it’s pretty clear that they’re the top of the food chain when it comes to American football and soccer/football. Here’s hoping that the company’s upcoming UFC game does at least half as well as this series.
