FIFA 13 – First Screenshots and Details
Posted on May 8, 2012 AT 07:22am

The first screenshots and details for EA’s annual soccer installment, FIFA 13, have made their way online, including information on first touch control, player impact, complete dribble and tactical free-kicks.
The details come courtesy of DSOGaming, and report that FIFA 13 will attempt to provide more realistic ball control by taking in factors such as player strength, speed, skill and the height of the ball. The dev team apparently has got a tighter grasp of last year’s player impact engine and has rooted out any unrealistic animations while adding several in the hip and upper body area. So prepare for even more players falling over.
Dribbling has also been improved, now more than just a direction change will be needed. Along with free kicks also getting tweaked, three players will be able to stand over the ball and feint shots have been added. Finally the AI has been given a boost, allowing it to predict runs and passes better.
We’re not expecting major improvements out of this year’s entry, some quick toning and slight changes should be enough to keep fans happy for another year. Most of the team’s time is probably going into a next-gen engine at the moment so most major changes will be saved for that.
What other changes and improvements would you like to see implemented?
