Earlier today FIFA 13‘s Ultimate Team web-app went offline due to an exploit that allowed players to get a ton of free Gold Packs containing rare and valuable players, people then went on to sell these players for really low amounts destroying the market.
The service has now being restored and the exploit removed, however EA has announced that any players who benefited from this exploit have been hit with perma-bans, it appears that the ban is only for Ultimate Team and not from the entire of FIFA 13.
“The FIFA Ultimate Team Web App is back up and running! Thanks for your patience,” EA tweeted on the FIFA feed. “Yesterday, a very small number of users attempted to gain an unfair advantage on the FUT Web App.”
“Web App had to be taken offline to be stabilized and ensure a level playing field for all FUT users.”
“Permanent bans for FIFA 13 FUT have been served to all users who attempted to gain an unfair advantage.”
Is the ban fair? Should it have been from the entire of FIFA 13? Share your thoughts below.
