There’s no release date for North America or Europe, but Square Enix is bringing Final Fantasy Legends: Warriors of Light and Dark to iOS and Android devices on August 31st in Japan. Formerly, this title went by a different moniker entirely.

Originally known as Final Fantasy Dimensions, this RPG started out as a port for Japanese mobile phones in 2010, but was announced for iOS and Android last year.

If you’ve seen it in some form or another, it was likely at the last Tokyo Game Show, or this year at E3 2012.

What makes Final Fantasy Legends: Warriors of Light and Dark different from Square Enix’s other mobile titles is the episodic content. There’s a free prologue, with each chapter being sold at different prices—but you can save time by downloading the full game all at once, which will costs Japanese mobile gamers a whopping 2500 yen ($31.85).

Sqaure Enix is notorious for highly-priced RPG apps, drawing ire from many fans for high prices tagged on ports like Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy III.

Irregardless, you can expect a similar pricing model once this hits online stores in other regions—so bring money.
