Final Fantasy

Square Enix’s digital recycling of their classic remakes continues with Google Play, as the original Final Fantasy is now available to purchase in the Android-centric online catalog. It was just made available today, and all you new Google Nexus 7 tablet owners luckily won’t have to wait for a newly optimized version this weekend.

It’s on sale for 7 bucks, although it doesn’t boost any improved features that you haven’t already seen in the PSP remake or any other mobile versions.

With the addition of Final Fantasy, this boosts Square Enix’s library in the Google Play store to six total games:

  • FINAL FANTASY III
  • Crystal Defenders
  • Imaginary Range
  • Imaginary Range Ep.2
  • FINAL FANTASY
It’s a small list, especially in comparison to the offering on the iPhone and iPad’s selection via the App Store, which includes titles like Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the LionsSecret of Mana, and Chrono Trigger. Although, given Android’s open format, it’s probably safe to assume many of you Android users have “other” means of acquiring Square Enix RPGs for your devices.
