Posted on September 19, 2013 AT 11:45am

Final Fantasy Tactics creator Yasumi Matsuno announced today that he’s collaborating with tabletop and digital game developer Playdek on his latest project, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians.

“I’m pleased to be to be creating this amazing world and rich story exclusively for Playdek,” Matsuno said in a press release. “It’s exciting to develop my vision with the leading company of the genre. I look forward to bringing this new world to life and reaching a new audience of avid gamers.”

Unsung Story is described as a tactics game that co-designed by Matsuno and French board game designer Christophe Boelinger. Set in the world of Rasfalia, Unsung Story will at its core be a digital card game played online, pitting two players against each other in matches that employ the “immersive, strategic gameplay Boelinger is known for.”

Unsung Story is being developed for “a variety of digital services” and is set to launch sometime next year.
