Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts writer Kazushige Nojima has revealed that a third Final Fantasy X title may be possible if there is enough demand.
In the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Ultimania book, which was released alongside the game in Japan, Nojima stated that he would like to see Final Fantasy X-3. “If demand [for a sequel] is delivered, there could be new developments,” he said. “I, personally, would like to see a sequel such as Final Fantasy X-3.”
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is set to release in North America March 18, 2014 and in Europe March 21, 2014 for PlayStation 3. The Vita versions of both games will also be available in North America from March 18, 2014.
