THE BUZZ: Square-Enix has revealed two European special editions for Final Fantasy XIII-2, both of which are available to pre-order today: the Limited Collector’s Edition and the Crystal Edition.

The Limited Collector’s Edition will come in a unique packaging and includes:

  • Composer Selected Soundtrack: CD with selection of music tracks from the game, specially chosen by the composers
  • Artwork book “The Art of FINAL FANTASY XIII-2,” featuring artwork across the production
  • 6 collectible postcards, featuring high quality CG artwork of main characters in the game
  • High Definition Lenticular Artprint, showing an iconic image of the Lightning character

The Cryastal Edition comes in a presentation box and includes:

  • 4-Disc FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 Original Soundtrack, with premium digipak packaging
  • Exclusive FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 T-Shirt from the SQUARE ENIX PRODUCTS range. Never to be available elsewhere!
  • Artwork book “The Art of FINAL FANTASY XIII-2”, featuring artwork across the production
  • 6 collectable postcards, featuring high quality CG artwork of main characters in the game
  • High Definition Lenticular Artprint, showing an iconic image of the Lightning character

Both versions of the game will release alongside the standard edition on February 3rd 2012.

These two editions are thusfar exclusive to Europe and PAL territories. No word as yet on whether North America will get some special edition love too.

EGM’s TAKE: The Crystal Edition actually sounds pretty impressive and may be worth the extra money come February.
