THE BUZZ: During a recent Q&A session at a fan even in Tokyo, Motomu Toriyama, director for Final Fantasy XIII-2, provided a big hint of when we can expect to discover the game’s release date.
During the event he was asked by a fan if he could offer a more specific date for the game’s release, to which he replied, “It will be announced at Tokyo XXXXXX (sic).” Now the number of X’s matches the Japanese word for “Game Show” which seems to point to a reveal at TGS this week. It was also mentioned during the session that development is 90% complete and has been ongoing for around one and a half years.
EGM’s TAKE: Hopefully once a Japanese release date has been nailed down we can begin to work out a more solid date for the North American release.
