THE BUZZ: Square-Enix has released some details and several screenshots for the next piece of Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC.
Snow will get his own episode which takes place in the Colosseum. The episode will delve deeper into his relationship with Serah, and reveal where he got his L’Cie mark from. Also included in the pack is the game’s final and most powerful boss Valfodr.
Valfodr appears in the second half of Snow’s episode and the developers want it to act as the final boss in the Colosseum. You will have to fight it several times, and each time it will grow stronger, to the point where it becomes the most powerful enemy in the game. Defeat it and there’s a 100 percent drop rate on its monster crystal allowing you to add Valfodr to your party. When you fight Snow his crystal has a 30 percent drop rate.
The DLC will be available May 15 in Japan.
EGM’s TAKE: With Square-Enix labeling this the final boss in the Colosseum, does this mean it’s the final piece of DLC? Or will the team concentrate on fleshing that half finished ending? For some reason we have that niggling suspicion that a third game is going to appear at some point. XIII-2 just leaves too much of an open ending to fill in with DLC alone. Based on how easy it is to beat the toughest boss, we hope that Valfodr may actually prove a real challenge.
What do you think of this final boss? Will there be a third game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
