Final Fantasy XIII-2

THE BUZZ: Square-Enix has announced the worldwide release dates for Final Fantasy XIII-2 along with a new “Lightning” PS3 console at the Tokyo Game Show.

The game will release in Japan December 15th, priced at 7,980 Yen, followed by a US launch January 31st. Finally the game will come to Europe February 3rd. A new Final Fantasy 320GB PS3 console was also revealed titled, “Lightning Edition Ver. 2,” that will launch alongside the game in Japan priced at 37,960 Yen, no word was given on other territories. Finally Square announced plans to release downloadable content for the game, but didn’t go into further detail.

EGM’s TAKE: Rejoice! We finally have a solid release date for Final Fantasy XIII-2, but will it be able to repair the damage that the original made in fan’s hearts? Only time will tell.
