Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn director Naoki Yoshida has confirmed that the game’s first expansion will be unveiled at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in October.
Fan Festivals are scheduled to be held throughout October and November in Las Vegas, London, and Tokyo. Yoshida referred to the expansion as “version 3.0,” and confirmed that it would be revealed at one of these events.
“We want the fans to know it first,” he told Polygon. “They’ve been the ones supporting us.”
However, there’s plenty of content coming to keep fans interested until the announcement. With patch 2.3 and 2.4 Square Enix will add 72-player Frontlines PvP battles, private rooms for Free Company Housing, Chocobo Raising, a new Rogue Class with Ninja Job, and more.
