Final Fantasy XIV has enjoyed a new lease of life since A Realm Reborn was released, so it’s no surprise to see figures like this being thrown around.
According to Famitsu, Final Fantasy XIV now has 1.5 million registered accounts worldwide. Of course that doesn’t mean that the game currently has 1.5 million active players or subscribers as most of launch buyer’s free trials have now expired and we have no idea how many opted to subscribe after.
The game’s first content update, patch 2.1, is set to go live later this year and will add new dungeons, PvP, and Free Company housing.
