Final Fantasy XIV Character Creation Closed Down Following Early Access Over Crowding

Posted on August 26, 2013 AT 03:20am

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn‘s server woes continues as the rush of new players joining early access has forced Square Enix to prevent new characters from being created.

Full servers are a very common thing during an MMO launch, but removing features such as character creation isn’t. Game director Naoki Yoshida apologized to users on the game’s official forums and stated that unless the simultaneous connection rate decreased the maintenance crew would be unable to allow the creation of new characters.

Yoshida asked for player’s patience as the team works to improve server stability.
