During today’s Letter from the Producer Live, Final Fantasy XIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida unveiled the next two updates for the game.
Kicking things off will be update 4.36, which is scheduled to go live on August 7th. This smaller update will bring with it the Pagos Expedition for the Forbidden Land, Eureka and the Monster Hunter: World crossover event. This event will see players taking on Rathalos in a new trial to earn gear, a Palicos minion, and a Rathalos mount.
Update 4.36 will be followed by update 4.4 in mid-September. This larger update is titled “Prelude in Violet” and introduces new Hildibrand Adventures, a new Four Lords trial, new side quests, two new dungeons, a new trial against Suzaku, and the Omega: Alphascape eight-player raid. As well as all this, players can look forward to job adjustments, PvP changes, the third part of the Forbidden Land, Eureka, gathering and crafting updates, Captain Rank for Grand Companies, and more.
Finally, the previously announced companion app will arrive in late July/early August. The app will be available on both iOS and Android, and lets players manage inventories, chat with friends, and use the market board.
Final Fantasy XIV is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC.
