Square Enix has announced that Prelude in Violet, the next major update for Final Fantasy XIV, will arrive on September 18th.

Update 4.4 introduces new main scenario quests, new side quests, two new dungeons, a new entry in the Omega raid series, and updates to The Lost Canals of Uznair treasure dungeon.

Other changes coming in the update include a new Grand Company rank, new recipes, the Mannequin housing item, a new GATE for the Gold Saucer, an anniversary option for the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding, and much more.

Looking forward, update 4.45 will see the introduction of a third area to The Forbidden Land, Eureka that will allow players to improve their Eureka weapons further.

Final Fantasy XIV is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC.
