Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy XV‘s final piece of DLC, Episode Ardyn, is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and to celebrate the developer has released a new trailer.

Episode Ardyn is set 35 years before the events of the main game and lets players take control of main antagonist Ardyn Lucis Caelum as they uncover the events that lead to him seeking revenge against the line of Lucis.

While playing as Ardyn, players will gain access to new abilities, be able to summon Ifrit to fight alongside them, and warp using “Phantasmal Leap.” There’s also a new “Hat Shop,” which will allow players to purchase several new hats for Ardyn that will appear in cutscenes.

Players who complete Episode Ardyn will gain access to the “Ardyn’s Ensemble” outfit and “Mutant Rakshasa Blade” for Noctis to use in the main game.

The original plan was to release a total of four new DLCs for Final Fantasy XV, with Episode Ardyn being the first. However, Episode Aranea, Episode Lunafreya, and Episode Noctis were canceled back in November last year due to a direction change for the company and director Hajime Tabata leaving.

In other news, the final Active Time Report for Final Fantasy XV will happen later today, during which Square Enix will share details about an update for the game and the Final Fantasy XV: The Dawn of the Future novel.
