Square Enix unveiled the Final Fantasy XIV side of the Final Fantasy XIV x Final Fantasy XV collaboration during the latest Letter from the Producer Live.

The event will see Final Fantasy XV protagonist Noctis Lucis Caelum battling alongside the Warrior of Light against magitek infantry, magitek armor, and Garuda. In addition to this, it was revealed that the Regalia will be available in Final Fantasy XIV during the event as the game’s first four-player mount. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida confirmed that the mount will be a reward from the event and not a cash shop item.

A release date for the crossover event was not confirmed, but Yoshida said that the team is aiming for an April release.

It was also announced that Final Fantasy XIV‘s 4.55 update will arrive on February 12th, bringing with it the Hidden Gorge Rival Wings map, which sees two teams compete to destroy the other team’s core, and the fourth and final entry in the Eureka storyline, Eureka Hydratos. This final entry in the Eureka series will raise the elemental cap to 60 and introduce The Baldesion Arsenal, an ultra high-end 56-player public dungeon.

In other news, Square Enix recently shared new details about Final Fantasy XIV‘s upcoming Shadowbringers expansion.
