The HD remastering of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 was done by Virtuos Games and not Square Enix, according to a post on the developer’s website.

The post explains that while the games were “created and published by Square Enix, the HD versions of the titles were remastered by Virtuos.” The developer describes the project as its “biggest to date.”

Virtuos has previously ported a number of titles to iOS, including XCOM: Enemy Unknown. The developer also helped out with The Last Us, creating “character art, environment art and props… including clothing for main characters Joel and Ellie.”

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is set to release March 18 in North America and March 21 in Europe for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
