Assassin's Creed

The first gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue was released by Ubisoft this morning and focuses on Templar Shay’s seafaring abilities.

Narrated by Lead Game Designer, Michael Hampton, the trailer highlights some new and returning features from the naval battles fans of the series became accustomed to in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. New weapons like burning oil and explosive forward cannons complement an arsenal of broadside cannons, mortars and the ram.

New upgrades for the ship also include an ability to smash through ice, a constant hindrance in the frozen North Atlantic where much of Rogue takes place in.

Much like Edward Kenway, Shay also has a fleet he can send captured ships to, but no longer are players the only ones doing the boarding of disabled vessels. If rammed, Shay’s ship, the Morrigan, will also be boarded now, and you’ll have to kill the enemy captain to prevent losing a large chunk of your crew.

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will be available on November 11 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
