Microsoft has announced the first set of games that will be released under the Windows 8 Xbox label when the new operating system launches in October. Of the 40 titles on the list, 29 are developed or published by Microsoft Studios, and a handful will be exclusive to Windows 8.
The first wave of games will be available on October 26th, but Microsoft has yet to announce specific dates for individual titles.

- Angry Birds Space
- Big Buck Hunter Pro
- BlazBlue Calamity Trigger
- Collateral Damage
- Crash Course GO
- Cut the Rope
- Disney Fairies

- The Harvest HD
- Toy Soldiers Cold War

- Zombies!!!
Judging by that list, this seems to be more about rebranding Windows 8′s game store than anything else. A few of the titles on there, like ilomilo and Skulls of the Shogun, are actually ports of 360 games, but most of them are just mobile or pack-in Windows games that have been lumped together under the Xbox banner.
I, for one, am looking forward to the day I have to explain to my grandmother that a round of Solitaire doesn’t count as “playing Xbox”
