Elite Dangerous

It’s taken a long time, but finally Elite: Dangerous players have discovered an alien race known as the Thargoids.

Thargoids have appeared in Elite games since the series began, but have remained hidden in Elite: Dangerous until now. Xbox user “DP Sayre” uploaded a video of his first encounter with a Thargoid ship yesterday and sent the community into meltdown. The encounter has since been confirmed as real by developer Frontier Developments on Twitter.

Take a look at the encounter below:

Frontier has been teasing the appearance of the Thargoids for quite some time, but what happens now that first contact has been made?

Elite: Dangerous is available now on Xbox One and PC, and will be coming to PlayStation 4 in Q2 2017.
