As fans continue to dive into the crazy action of Primal Carnage‘s world of humans-vs-dinosaurs, developer Lukewarm Media and publisher Reverb Publishing have now announced the game’s first selection of DLC offerings.
Hitting later this month, players will be able to add a new objective-based mode called “Get to the Chopper”. Here, humans must work together to reach an escape helicopter waiting for them at the other end of the map, while those playing as dinosaurs attempt to take out the humans before they can be extracted. As well, Primal Carnage will also be getting a “brand-new mode specific map” as part of the DLC.
In addition to these free updates, skin packs will also be released for Primal Carnage. The first of these will also be coming along later this month, providing players will five new dinosaur skins (shown below).
“Our goal with Primal Carnage was to make the best dinosaur video game to date, and according to the reviews, we’ve done just that – but we are FAR from done,” said lead designer and founder of Lukewarm Media Ashton Anderson in the announcement of this DLC. “Gamers are hungry for more content and today we reveal not only these character skin updates, but also ‘Get to the Chopper’, the first of several additional game modes that will be offered absolutely free to our players. Primal Carnage and its community are looking forward to solidifying our foothold as a stellar multiplayer experience u nlike anything else on the market.”
Okay, seriously—while I haven’t had the chance to play Primal Carnage yet, I’ve loved the idea since the first time I heard it. A first-person/third-person hybrid shooter where humans battle against dinosaurs? That’s like the kind of game that you come up with as a child, but never actually gets made.
So, good to see the folks behind Primal Carnage keeping the game updated with free—and some paid—DLC.
