Guacamelee’s first batch of DLC, the Costume Pack, adds three costumes, and comes with a patch that makes Tostada playable on the Vita when it hits PSN tomorrow.
“A lot of people are asking for more content,” DrinkBox Studios’ co-founder Graham Smith told IGN. “[We] always wanted the player to be able to swap costumes as part of the full game, and we just didn’t have time to do it. Specifically, we wanted people to be able to play as Tostada when they’re playing on the Vita, and right now there’s no way for that to happen.”
In addition to the DLC, Guacamelee! is getting a patch that will allow players to switch between Juan and Tostada at checkpoints, and for Vita players, finally makes Tostada a playable character.
The three costumes included in the Costume Pack each influence Juan and Tostada’s powers and skills. While wearing the Pollo Luchador costume, Juan and Tostada regerate health slowly at the expense of slower stamina regeneration. The Identity Swap costume weakens Juan and Tostada’s throws, but boosts regular attacks. The Skeleton outfit grants infinite stamina, but disables health pick ups.
The Guacamelee! Costume Pack launches on PSN June 4 in North America, June 5 in Europe, priced at $1.99.
