Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan appeared during the Overwatch League last night to officially unveil Retribution, the newest PvE event for Overwatch.
The event will run from April 10th through April 30th and gives players the chance to play through the Blackwatch mission that changed the future of Overwatch. In the event, players will head to Rialto, Venice as Blackwatch members McCree, Moira, Genji, and Reyes to take out a high-ranking member of Talon. Watch the announcement trailer below:
The Retribution event also includes last year’s Uprising brawl, in which players get to experience Tracer’s first mission for Overwatch. Players can also unlock more than 160 Archives Loot Box items, including items from last year’s Uprising event and eight new legendary skins.
Finally, the Rialto map used in this event will be added to the game permanently as a new Payload map in a future update. The map is due to hit the PTR for testing “soon.”
In other new, Jeff Kaplan recently revealed that the Overwatch team has been experimenting with machine learning to help curb the toxicity problem that the game is suffering from.
Overwatch is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
