First Mortal Kombat Vita Gameplay

THE BUZZ: Sony has released the first Mortal Kombat gameplay footage for the PlayStation Vita.

There is around 2 minutes of off-screen footage shown for the recently announced game, which is said to feature everything from the console version as well as new modes and features specifically for the Vita. These extras include 150 challenge tower missions, 60 frames-per-second gameplay and touch controls.

EGM’s TAKE: There is absolutely no way you can tell the difference between the Vita version and the console version: the graphics are top notch and the gameplay flows smoothly. The more I see of the handheld the more impressive it looks. It’s impossible to imagine that you could port the whole console title at 60 fps and add extra features. Another positive is that this isn’t a launch title, meaning that early purchasers have something to look forward to with future software. Add that to the current launch line-up and Sony could be onto a winner.

What do you think of the game? Let us know in the comments below.
