Square Enix recently announced that they are going to be remaking their classic Japanese RPG DragonQuest VII for the 3DS, and now they’ve released the first screenshots for that remake.

DragonQuest VII was originally released for the PlayStation—it was the battle of the seventh-chapter RPGs between it and Final Fantasy VII—and this new 3DS remake is really changing up the overall graphic and art style.

So, while this will be a great way for players who never experienced the game’s original release to finally give it a try, long-time fans may now be torn between loving what’s being done with this updated release, and disliking it for trampling over their nostalgia.
