It’s been a long time coming, but finally Square Enix has released the first screenshots of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn running on PlayStation 3.

The screenshots showcase the console versions layout and reveal that players can place up to 16 abilities on the action bar, the slots are mapped to the controllers d-pad and face buttons with L2 and R2 activating one of two options for each button. There’s also the option of having up to eight of these action bars saved which can be cycled through by pressing L2 and R2 together.

The game is expected to release on PS3 either late this year or early 2013. You can check out the screenshots below.
