First trailer for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter shows unsettlingly realistic graphics

Posted on June 5, 2014 AT 01:33pm

The first full trailer for The Astronauts’ upcoming weird-fiction horror game The Vanishing of Ethan Carter shows off the game’s photorealistic visuals.

Normally I would sum up the trailer in some capacity, but I really don’t want to spoil anything, so instead I’ll just vamp about how Ethan Carter is a game about an occult detective named Paul Prospero trying to solve the mystery of a boy named—you guessed it—Ethan Carter.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is set to launch on Windows PC this summer, toward the later end. According to studio co-founder Adrian Chmielarz, PS4 and Xbox One ports are not out of the question, and The Astronauts are currently talking to both Sony and Microsoft.
