Following delay, The Crew 2 finally gets new release date

The Crew 2 will launch on June 29th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, according to a recent announcement from Ubisoft.

The Crew 2 will expand upon the original’s massive open-world by including a bunch of new ways to travel like planes, boats, off-road vehicles, and motorcycles, in addition to the first game’s huge stable of licensed cars. As we previously covered, Ubisoft is giving the game’s map—which is a recreation of the entirety of the United States—a tune-up to accommodate the new vehicle types by adding rooftop races, new waterways, and more.

Ubisoft also announced a new edition for the game. The Crew 2 Motor Edition will give players three-day early access to the game on June 26th. It will include everything that comes with the Gold Edition (season pass, vehicle packs, and custom avatar outfits), plus a custom license plate, an official (physical) road map, some stickers, and a steelbook cover.

The Crew 2 was originally supposed to launch on March 16th, but Ubisoft delayed it back in December to conduct additional playtesting. However, players looking to hit The Crew 2‘s open road (and skies, and rivers) can sign up for the beta, though Ubisoft has yet to announce when the beta would go live.

Before that, you can get a head start on stocking your garage by participating in The Crew Rewards Program. These are monthly challenges that will take place in the first game and will give players the chance to “unlock up to 19 unique vehicles in The Crew 2,” according to the announcement.

PlayStation 4 and PC players can preorder The Crew 2 now, with Xbox One preorders starting on March 16th. Preordering the game will net you the Legendary Motors Pack and a couple of exclusive vehicles.
