For Honor is bleeding players on Steam, with average hourly player counts only hitting half the launch’s numbers.
After a very popular beta and a release that managed to slip it into the top ten most played games on Steam, For Honor‘s popularity has been on a sharp decline, according to a Githyp report. The report claims that For Honor dropped from 39,000 average players per hour down to 21,000 after its first week. The trend continued with a drop to 15,000 the week after.
The game saw a small bump this past weekend, hitting up around 17,000 players on Saturday. It is also important to note that, while the decline itself is worrying, the actual numbers make up a relatively active player base, particularly considering that not all players are included in the Steam player count.
The report equates For Honor‘s popularity slope to that of Tom Clancy’s The Division last year. Like The Division, the report predicts that For Honor will lose 90 percent of its Steam players by the end of its second month.
