For Honor‘s third year of content is almost ready to kick off, with the game’s next fighter dropping January 31st.
The new hero, called the Vortiger, is a Heavy class fighter in the Knights faction who comes equipped with a kite shield and longsword. The hero’s description on the official Ubisoft blog post is as follows:
Once knights of the order of the Holy Balaur, the Black Priors were born when their leader, Vortiger was swayed by Apollyon’s promises of power. With her defeat, the order dispersed and disappeared. Now, the Black Priors have returned and fight for Vortiger, seeking to make amends for their past and pledge fealty to the Knights.
As with all new fighters, season pass holders will get instant access to the hero at no cost, with Vortiger dropping on January 31st. Everyone else will have to wait one week before they can start using the new hero, and only after paying 15,000 of in-game Steel currency.
A trailer of the hero expressing his apparent anger issues can be checked out below.
In addition to the release of Vortiger, the game’s new Harbor Dominion map will also drop on January 31st, free for all players. Players can look forward to a number of hero rebalances in the first season of the game’s Year of the Harbinger as well, focusing on heroes including the Shugoki, Warlord, and Peacekeeper. Check out a breakdown of season one in a developer livestream on January 24th at 9 a.m. PT.
