Former Bulletstorm Devs Announce The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

Several employees from People Can Fly, the developers behind Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment, have formed their own studio—The Astronauts—and announced their first game: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.

Described as “weird fiction horror,” players control a supernatural detective with powers that allow them to “visualize scenes of lethal crimes.” The story revolves around a kidnapped boy, the pursuit of whom leads the player to a mountain area littered with corpses—and so the mystery begins!

“What we care about the most is that the players feel like they’re really there. Immersion is our number one priority”, designer Adrian Chmielarz said in the press release. “It’s a game about exploration and discovery. We’re not abandoning the gameplay – on the contrary: we’re trying to strip it down to the bone and make sure it’s always meaningful and truly makes the experience better.”

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is scheduled for digital release on PC sometime this year.
