Former Criterion co-founders’ new studio currently developing two games

Posted on May 9, 2014 AT 01:11pm

Former Criterion co-founders Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry’s new studio Three Fields Entertainment gained another Criterion employee today, and announced plans to release two games “in early 2015.”

Paul ross, who served as chief technical officer at Criterion for almost 18 years, is now serving in the same capacity at Three Fields, with the added responsibility of “director.” Ross joins Ward, Sperry, and seven other former Criterion Games staffers at Three Fields. The company, according to another tweet, is looking to expand further.

A third successive Tweet from the new studio, formed earlier this year, revealed that they they have two titles in development, with plans to release them by early 2015. The nature of these titles, however, remains a mystery—they could, perhaps, be racing games, which is almost exclusively all that Criterion developed, or perhaps Ward, Sperry, and the other form Criterion crew are flexing their creative muscles in some new way.
