Former developers on The Last Guardian, Battlefield 3, Bionic Commando, and Killzone have splintered off from their respective big companies to form their own indie studio based in Tokyo.
“Our work experience as individuals span some notable AAA stuff, including The Last Guardian, Battlefield 3, Bionic Command, and Killzone to name a few,” reads the company’s “About Us” page. “As many before us, however, we grew tired of working for big companies and chose instead to bet it all on pooling our talents and set out on the great indie adventure we always wanted. We’re now at a point where we’re ready to start showing our projects to the world. We really hope you enjoy the ride and see what we get up to!”
According to the website, Friend & Foe are working on two projects concurrently: Vane and Dangerous Men. The former is an open-world adventure game with an aesthetic not unlike The Last Guardian’s while the latter is described as a “action arcade game based on 80’s buddy cop movies.” A handful of gifs are up on Friend & Foe’s website that show Vane in action.
