Former Square Enix CEO and President Yoichi Wada Now Chairman of the Board

Posted on June 26, 2013 AT 02:36pm

Former president and CEO of Square Enix Yoichi Wada is now the company’s chairman of the board, according to Square Enix’s corporate officer listing.

According to the listing, Wada assumed the position of chairman of the board sometime this month.

Wada resigned as president and CEO as part of an internal “management” reform at Square Enix—one spurred by game sales that company felt were not up to snuff. Director Yosuke Matsuda took up Wada’s mantle as president and CEO, since instituting sweeping changes throughout the company that, most recently, saw several studios gain new leadership.
