Former Telltale, Klei Entertainment Devs Form Indie Games Studio Campo Santo

Posted on September 19, 2013 AT 01:54pm

Former developers from Telltale Games and Klei Entertainment have banded together to form a new independent games studio, Campo Santo, IGN reports.

Campo Santo is comprised of Nels Anderson (who served as lead designer on Klei Entertainment’s downloadable 2D stealth title Mark of the Ninja), Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin (both writers on Telltale’s The Walking Dead), and freelance graphic designer Olly Moss (who has worked with Lucasfilm, Mondo, Sony, and Studio Ghibli).

“Deciding to found and then actually CREATE a videogame studio has felt like a mix of buying a winning lottery ticket and taking a brash detour that results in a near miss with a pedestrian,” Vanaman wrote in the first post to appear on the company’s blog.

According to Vanaman’s post, Campo Santo’s first project is being made in collaboration with Mac, iPhone, and iPad app designer Panic Inc., whose work includes SFTP/FTP/S3 file transfer program Transmit.

“Some of us want to tell stories, some of us want to build systems, and some of us want to create beautiful looking worlds,” Vanaman added. “But we all want to make something.”
