Former Valve Exec Joins Microsoft to Develop Windows as a Gaming Platform

Posted on August 14, 2013 AT 11:43am

Former Valve exec Jason Holtman, who served as director of business, is now with Microsoft, Holtman informed GamesIndustry International.

“Yes, I have joined Microsoft where I will be focusing on making Windows a great platform for gaming and interactive entertainment,” Holtman said. “I think there is a lot of opportunity for Microsoft to deliver the games and entertainment customers want and to work with developers to make that happen, so I’m excited to be here.”

At Valve, Holtman helped developers get their games on Steam. It seems likely that he’ll be doing something similar for Windows. Holtman had been with Valve since 2005.
