THE BUZZ: Tomasz Gop—who was formally a senior producer for The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings—is working on a new RPG project that is said to have some quite interesting inspiration.
EGM’s TAKE: According to digital spy, Gop’s “Project RPG” was revealed by City Interactive and the German development studio Deck13. While the project is still early in the developmental stage, the site says that it will be an “action role-playing game will focus specifically on player skill to progress forward, with a story that is designed to be mirror users’ own actions and playstyle through its vision and ideologies.”
The game’s world is based around the 1,000 year old corpse of a God, whose body has become a mountain that separates the world into two now very different societies. Players will travel between the two, and must decide where their allegiance lies.
Also according to digital spy, Project RPG’s combat will be “inspired by Dark Souls, Kingdoms of Amalur and Batman: Arkham City“—providing combat that will be easy to get into but hard to master.
Project RPG is currently slated to hit the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in 2013.
