The newest weapon to arrive in Fortnite: Battle Royale will allow players to stealthily skewer each other with love in honor of Valentine’s Day.

The game’s latest update 2.4.2 introduced a Valentine-themed crossbow into the survival game’s mix of weapons, equipped with infinite arrows that are stealthier than your average bullet. Other update content celebrating the holiday includes two new skins, namely Cupid and a heartbroken bear.

Update 2.4.2 also comes with changes to the game’s Shooting Test 1. This temporary playlist was implemented in a recent update to allow players to test out a variety of changes planned for the shooter’s core gunplay. As of 2.4.2, shotguns have regained some of their reduced headshot damage- now 200 percent, up from the previous 150 percent- and scoped auto rifles no longer feature fall off damage, but they do now get 100 percent accuracy when scoped in. The playlist has additionally been switched to Solo players only.

GENERAL

  • The Shooting Test #1 Limited-Time Mode has been switched to Solo only.
  • Known Issue: The Shooting Test does not save progression for stats or challenges.
  • Shotgun headshot damage increased to 200% (was 150%).
  • Scoped Assault Rifle is now 100% accurate when zoomed in.
  • Scoped Assault Rifle no longer has damage fall-off.

Bug Fixes

  • Players will no longer slide off rooftops.
  • Fix for Item Shop panels disappearing after completing a V-buck purchase through the Store Tab.
  • Fix for collision inconsistencies in certain basement corners.
  • Fixed a hole in the terrain south of Retail Row.
  • Removed harsh high-frequency sound from the Chomp Jr pickaxe.

WEAPONS

  • Crossbow- This weapon fires Arrows, which are an unlimited ammo type.
  • Found from floor loot and treasure chests.
  • This weapon comes in both Rare and Epic variants.

Several events for the game’s Save the World cooperative mode were delayed, due to a variety of technical issues the game recently faced. The developer offered up a roadmap for when to expect those events to launch, and now more details are available on the events from the most recent patch notes.
