Epic Games has announced that it is bringing Fortnite Battle Royale to mobile.
The mobile version of the game will feature “the same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates” as the console and PC release. As well as this, thanks to a partnership with Sony, the mobile release will support cross-platform play and cross-platform progression with PlayStation 4, PC, and Mac.
“We believe this is the future of games. The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action,” the developer added. “Play when you want, where you want.”
From Monday, March 12th, sign ups will be opened for an Invite Event on iOS. Successful applicants will receive an email with a link to download the game from the App Store. More players will be invited to try out the game over the coming months. An Android version of the game is also planned, but it is a few months away.
To take part in the Invite Event, players will need an internet connection, iOS 11, and either an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad 2017 device.
More details about the mobile version of the game will be shared on Monday.
