Epic Games has released a new limited-time mode for Fortnite: Battle Royale that gives players the chance to test one of the two new shooting models that the developer is working on for the game.
The first shooting model being tested is “First-Shot Accuracy”. Under this model, all weapons will have a first-shot accuracy bonus that is indicated by a red glow on the reticle. This bonus is granted when standing still, aiming down sights, or when the weapon hasn’t been fired in a while.
As well as the above, headshot critical damage has been reduced for all weapons, damage fall-off has been introduced for some weapons, and the damage of semi-automatic sniper rifles and SMGs has been increased.
The shooting test will be available to try on all platforms until the end of this week.
Epic Games plans to host another test in the future to give players the chance to try out the second shooting model that is in the works. Under this second model, weapons will have perfect accuracy with no bloom, but recoil will be added to all weapons.
Fortnite: Battle Royale is available now as a free download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
